“I support paid leave because when my daughter was in a car accident and suffered severe head injuries, she was hospitalized for several days after life saving surgery. When she was able to come home, she needed care for the first week or so. I was fortunate that my job allowed me to take family leave to be with her for the entire time that I was needed. As a single mother at the time, that was a Godsend. I was ensured of an income and a job to come back to while I cared for my daughter. Every mother should have that peace of mind.”
